Prof. B.P. Mishra who served the INDIAN FORCE for 20 years as Senior Servicing & Maintenance Engineer heads the Department; he has completed PhD (Engg.)in Intelligent volume control for mobile phone in presence of background noise from JMO. Central University, New Delhi allows the students to decide their future.
From the very beginning, the Department has taken the lead in establishing well-equipped and modern lab facilities. It is equipped with different labs having advanced technologies and latest equipment in Analog Digital Communication Lab, Control Lab with MATLAB Software, Microprocessor Lab, and Electronics Workshop, PCB Lab etc as per the U.P Technical University Syllabus. Most of the latest Software Design tools are available in various labs to provide computer-aided guidance to students.
A number of students also continue postgraduate study at Masters and PhD levels in reputed universities in US. Faculty members of the Department are pursuing M. Tech/PhD and have produced some high quality research papers in various journals of International/national repute. The Department has been organizing several value-addition training workshops. These value-added programmes have been very much helpful in ensuring placement to majority of our students.
Ever since its inception, the Department has followed a curriculum that provides many advances to the student. The course material is diverse and provides the engineer-to-be with a truly holistic view of life in general and technology in particular. The curriculum for the first year of the course is same for all the branches. The diversity of the curriculum becomes evident after the first year. The course consists of sufficient papers in all major fields of engineering-Computer Science, Electrical Engineering etc.
The final two years however, are devoted almost entirely, to advance topics in Electronics Instrumentation Engineering, such as Process and Instrumentation Control, Telemetry etc. The faculty has diverse interests and this encourages the students to follow many areas of their choice. Many faculty members have memberships of various professional Societies like IETE, ISTE etc. Many activities like Quizzes, Workshops, and Seminars etc are regularly organized. Senior Professionals and eminent personalities from NTs, Industry, who are widely recognized for their contribution in Research , Training Consultancy etc. are invited to deliver special lectures.
